There are foods that cause the inflammation, and foods that can help to get rid of it. Here is a link that shows many different kinds of foods for each.

I prefer things like this rather than taking the Ibuprofin etc., because the meds can cause other problems.

If you have or can buy one of the bandages they have at pharmacies or Walmart etc., for the foot/ankle, it would be good to put it on in the morning, when the inflammation is down some from being off of it while you sleep. Or, you could buy some of the Edema socks. I wear the knee highs because of edema due to past surgeries. They are amazing for keeping the swelling down. Hope it clears up for you soon. Look at the list of foods and see if there are any in there that you might have been eating too many of lately, and stay away from them for a while, or better yet, forever. It's difficult, but worth it if they are causing you pain.
