If I want to make some sauce, do I just add sugar and cook, and how much, I was thinking a cup of sugar to a cup of rhubarb?

Put a little water in the rhubarb so it doesn't scorch and cook a while before adding sugar. I add 1/2 a package of dry strawberry jello to a batch. It gives the sauce a great taste and thickens the sauce. I throw some strawberries in if I have it. I don't measure the sugar, go by taste. Enjoy

Sorry this is so late, but I believe it's a cup of sugar to a cup of rhubarb. Let it sit a while and it gets liquidy all by itself. Then cook it to whatever consistancy you want. Think it was 3 weeks ago that the Peshtigo Times ran 2 recipes for rhubarb marmalade made with 2 oranges and 2 3 oz pkgs of Jello. I made 4 batches of it now, and it's very good. Made some with orange Jello and some with strawberry Jello. The neighbors loved it. Adding strawberries to it sounds even better.

I believe you can, so long as it doesn't "go to seed" by sprouting a flower. But I'm by far no expert. Good luck.

If you notice it to start to seed ---cut that stem off and you can still use it.
